Sitefinity

Sitefinity is an ASP.NET Commercial CMS offering from Telerik Corp. It has nice drag-and-drop, edit-in-place functionality that practically anyone could figure out. The product comes in two flavors: a community (free) version with some limitations, and a commercial edition that starts at $499.

Our Experience:

Sitefinity is layed out really well and makes things easy to understand. The main focus is on pages within the administration. Editing pages makes use of a cool edit-in-place deal that shows you which content can be edited. There are lots of modules too, like polls, forums, blogs, lists, events, etc. so it can handle a lot of kinds of content.

Theming a site with Sitefinity may take some extra time to figure out. You have to create a master theme, and then apply both skins and css to it, and then define what kinds of content can go in it.

Strengths: 1 – Easy to use.
2 – Easy to learn.
3 – Loads of features.
4 – The team behind is amazing.

Weaknesses: 1 – Is a bit too slow for my taste.
2 – Very resource hungry (Needs loads of RAM and CPU).
3 – The prices are a bit too high.
