PmWiki

PmWiki is a nice, simple wiki that is easy to use and collaborate with for projects and community driven documentation. Part of their philosophy is to favor writers over readers and trying to avoid adding gratuitous features.

Our Impressions:

We’ve enjoyed using PmWiki on a variety of occasions and always found it easy to set up and use. Editing a Wiki in general takes a little while to get used to the mark-up that it uses, and the ways to navigate the site, but generally we caught on quickly and so did our collaborators. Its awesome that users can write a lot of HTML without knowing any, and the way it can handle a ton of documents and media types. We like the way it has stayed simple and not tried to add too many features.

Installing themes and changing things around dramatically can be a bit of a pain sometimes. Sometimes we wish that there was an administration panel that would give you an overview of certain things like themes, users, and a sitemap of all pages created.
